The Second Vice President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Aaron Ami-Narh, has called on churches to prioritize consistent biblical teaching over excitement that leaves Christians shallow, stressing that true impact comes when faith engages reason.

Speaking at the just ended All Ministers Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre on 8th September 2025, Apostle Ami-Narh explained that while preaching is important, it must always carry with some teachings to build maturity among believers. “Faith does not do away with reason. No, faith is superior reason. Church is not just about excitement – we must help our members to grow. Without truth, there can be no lasting impact,” he said.

He cautioned that many churches continue to “feed long-standing members with milk and not solid food,” leaving congregants spiritually immature and overly focused on receiving rather than giving. According to him, true impact is measured by what Christians contribute to society, not just what they gain. “If you take more than what you give, you are a liability. Every child of God must be an asset,” he noted.

Sound Doctrines

Drawing from Hebrews 5:14, Apostle Ami-Narh emphasized that maturity in Christ is an exercise of the reasoning powers, cultivated through consistent teaching of the Word of God. He encouraged pastors not to fear losing members when they insist on sound doctrine. “Some people will leave when you stop telling them what excites them and start telling them the truth. But if you persist, God will use the few who remain to accomplish great things,” he advised.

Sharing his own pastoral experience, he recalled resisting manipulative fundraising practices in church and instead teaching biblical stewardship. Though he initially lost members, he said persistence led to growth and stronger foundations.

Apostle Ami-Narh urged church leaders to “do it God’s way and let God handle the consequences,” adding that consistent teaching is the key to building a strong church that impacts the world.
