The East Legon Sub-Zone Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Pastor Gideon Todze, has underscored the importance of unity among member churches within the body of Christ, emphasizing that denominational differences should not create division among believers.

Speaking in an interview with GPCC News during a zonal visitation as part of the GPCC Week Celebration, Pastor Todze highlighted the critical role of the Council in fostering collaboration among churches.

“It’s very important for GPCC to bring all the member churches together because we are the body of Christ,” he stated. “The fact that we come from different denominations does not mean we are enemies or different people. We are one body in Christ.”

Pastor Todze, however, expressed concern over the low participation of some churches in GPCC activities despite consistent efforts to promote inclusiveness.

“So far, the same churches that have been attending over the years are the same ones that participated this year. Unfortunately, we have not seen many new additions, and some churches remain reluctant to join,” he explained.

Strengthen Unity

He encouraged all member churches to actively participate in the Council’s initiatives to strengthen unity and demonstrate solidarity within the Christian community.

“As a body of Christ, coming together speaks volumes. It doesn’t send a good signal when some churches are absent. People from outside may wonder why certain churches are not participating, even though they are part of GPCC,” he said. “We must all come on board and make the GPCC Week celebration stronger and more impactful.”

Referring to the Council’s motto, “Unity in the Spirit,” Pastor Todze emphasized that the call to unity must be lived out through consistent fellowship and collaboration.

He also reflected on the theme for the 2025 GPCC Week, “Shining Like Stars in the World,” urging members to embrace the lessons shared during the celebration to live out their faith boldly in challenging times.

It’s difficult to shine as believers in this perverse and crooked generation, but when we come together and are taught by seasoned ministers, we learn and encourage one another to stand firm and reflect the light of Christ,” he concluded.

The GPCC Week celebration brings together member churches across zones and districts to strengthen fellowship, promote spiritual renewal, and encourage collective action for national transformation.
